Hotels and Hotel Management

Desk bell

Courses are conducted at all levels and can be taken in Tlc Centre or in your place of work, or a combination of the two.

Time tables are flexible to meet the demands of a busy workplace, and can be undertaken on a week by week basis (say 4 hours per week for two months), or on an intensive morning or afternoon basis.

The internationally recognised London Chamber of Commerce and Industry examinations can be taken at the end of the course in any area and at any level.

All materials are specific to the trade and follow our normal high standards.

Particular attention is paid to the "spoken word" and all simulations and role play scenarios are presented in the English that course participants need to communicate effectively in a number of everyday "real life" situations.

Courses are modular and workshop simulations are used to practice new language in a natural and authentic way. Tlc philosophy and methodology remain the same as in all other courses.

A typical syllabus might include:

  • Working at the reception desk
  • Taking bookings
  • Using the telephone
  • Giving information/directions
  • Hiring a car
  • Dealing with complaints
  • The cashier
  • The restaurant
  • Receiving clients/diners
  • Taking orders
  • Giving the bill
  • Room service
  • The housekeeper
  • The hall porter
  • Services
  • Vocabulary

Courses for Hotel Management are similar in content to those for "Business Management", but relate directly to the Hotel Trade.

A free needs analysis is conducted before course start.
